Family accounts & guardians
How guardians approve, manage, and set permissions for children under 13.
MomentA follows child-safety best practices (COPPA). When someone under 13 signs up, their account is held for guardian approval and stays kid-safe until a guardian sets permissions.
The approval flow
- 1
Child signs up
If their date of birth is under 13, we ask for a parent or guardian's email.
- 2
Guardian is invited
The guardian receives an email invitation to review and approve the account.
- 3
Guardian approves & sets permissions
The guardian accepts, links the child to their family, and chooses which capabilities to allow.
- 4
Child gets access
The child moves from pending to active with exactly the permissions the guardian granted.
Managing your family
- See each child's status: pending approval, active, or restricted.
- Turn individual permissions on or off at any time.
- Restrict an account to pause activity if needed.
Safe by default
While awaiting approval, a child can only explore, use AI writing, and create drafts. Nothing can be shared, purchased, or sent until a guardian allows it.
